Attempted logger.

So while I was away from my blogging for a month I got all my firewood cut down and hauled home as well as a truckload of pine logs.  I could not have done any of this without the help of my father!!
He doesent pose well for pictures but here he is doing what he did for over 25 years.  We shipped his 240 timberjack up to my lot in Peru and i started alone on the firewood cutting.  Monday was the first day I was up cutting I got sick and went home at noon and didnt make it back untill thursday.  Thursday afternoon my father came and helped me out some but we really finished the firewood sunday when him and Treor came up to cut.
We cut it 24 foot to fit on Goerge Merrill and Son's pulp truck and had it hauled home.  The wood showed up and was nicely stacked by tuesday of the next week.
We try our best to bother everyone as early as we can.
Once the firewood was home and our  so called landing was clear we turned to cutting pine logs.  Cutting firewood is an easy task. You find a hardwood tree cut it haul it out cut it 24 foot and your good.  Pine logs are another story in themselves.  Each tree could have any multitude of log lengths.  So having a experienced logger helps get the most out of your trees.
The size of the trees that we were cutting my father figured for 50 or so logs for a load.  When the driver came and picked them up he had the perfect amount of logs to fill the truck.  We didn't have anything spectacular for logs but they were all decent grade logs.

Better late than never

So it has been better than a month since my last blog post and as my previous posts show there isn't a day that goes by without something exciting happening let alone a month.  I was laying low for a while due to having lyme.  I'm not sure when I got bitten or where but after multiple days not feeling good I went to the doctors and tested positive.  After a three week course of antibiotics I tested clean but they want to keep a close eye on it.
Now on to the fun;
      I have been taking riding lessons with Allyssia and finally entered my first show last weekend.  We have been training for a month in the evenings of course when Allyssia is free and I am home from work.  I started in a english saddle which may have been a little bit to small for me.
My horse Annie has traveled to Florida and back with Allyssia.  She came home only a short time into the program with an injury and she has just gotten back to work this year.  We don't move very fast but we do the best we can.
         Allyssia and I are part of a riding club in Andover called the Ellis River Riders.  We have a monthly show up there that is usually Saturday and Sunday.  I typically ride in the Saturday where they have the barrel racing, pole bending and other fast paced classes.
At the show Allyssia found me a western saddle that was much more comfortable and Annie looks much happier in it.  We did 7 classes last weekend and didn't do overly bad for the little bit that we had ridden and the fact that we had never done any of the patterns.  Allyssia and I also did a few pairs classes.
This is us doing the ribbon race. We did decently even though we stretched the ribbon twice the length.  Overall it was fun and Allyssia and I have gotten a new padded saddle pad and a set of barrel reins so that Anniw is a little more comfortable with her new attire.
More updates and pictures next time.
