Now on to the fun;
I have been taking riding lessons with Allyssia and finally entered my first show last weekend. We have been training for a month in the evenings of course when Allyssia is free and I am home from work. I started in a english saddle which may have been a little bit to small for me.
My horse Annie has traveled to Florida and back with Allyssia. She came home only a short time into the program with an injury and she has just gotten back to work this year. We don't move very fast but we do the best we can.
Allyssia and I are part of a riding club in Andover called the Ellis River Riders. We have a monthly show up there that is usually Saturday and Sunday. I typically ride in the Saturday where they have the barrel racing, pole bending and other fast paced classes.
At the show Allyssia found me a western saddle that was much more comfortable and Annie looks much happier in it. We did 7 classes last weekend and didn't do overly bad for the little bit that we had ridden and the fact that we had never done any of the patterns. Allyssia and I also did a few pairs classes.
This is us doing the ribbon race. We did decently even though we stretched the ribbon twice the length. Overall it was fun and Allyssia and I have gotten a new padded saddle pad and a set of barrel reins so that Anniw is a little more comfortable with her new attire.
More updates and pictures next time.
