Our Baby Birds

A short while back I was cleaning in the barn and could hear some noise in the wall of the barn.  I was worried that it was rodents so off I went looking for the culprit to the noise.  After a brief investigation I found a hole in the outside wall of the barn. When I peeked in the hole there was three little fluff balls staring back.
They are active little birds but we have not seen the mother bird.  She seems to keep them well fed and happy but always out of our sight.  Even though the mother is out of sight I am sure she is watching us every minute that we are checking on the baby birds.
After posting some pictures on a wildlife forum, we found out that they are Kestrels.  The Kestrels are the smallest in the falcon family and are good birds to have around.  They eat mice and insects so hopefully they stick around and come back year after year.
I can't help but post all of the baby bird pictures that I have. It has been so much fun to watch them grow up and start learning to fly.
Until next time stay tuned and check back often!

Just a Little Update

With a new baby we have been very busy and also very tired the last few weeks.  Little Roland is a handful but he is worth every minute of lost sleep.  At his two week appointment he was already over his birth weight and just as healthy as could be.  He has been spending a little bit of time in the shop with me and I have been working on some small easy projects that have been piling up.
Starting off we have been working on the Honda Odyssey.  Last time I had it running the motor seized up and it has been sitting on flat tires since then.  The tires have come off and I am waiting on tubes for them and now sitting on the floor in my shop is the motor out of the Odyssey.

The motor is nothing special, merely an air cooled snowmobile motor, but with that said it is easy to work on.  I am in search of a new motor but until then I have many small things to fix on the Odyssey like breaks and control cables.  The next project is this little rear mounted carryall that goes on my Bolens.

The tub of the wheelbarrow part is rusted through and broken so I am on the search for a new tub to bolt back on.  I think that once I get the transmission fixed on the Bolens that this will be an awesome attachment.  That's it for tonight but tune back in and hopefully tomorrow we will touch up on some more small projects.

An Amazing New Addition to our Family

Just as I was getting back into the swing of regular blog posts we had this amazing wrench thrown into our lives! On 7/5/2019 at 11:40 am we welcomed the newest addition of our Family.
We were waiting to find out the gender and so it was a surprise to everyone that we had this cute little 6 pound 13 ounce baby BOY!  We had a list of names to choose from but ended up deciding to name him after my Grampa.  His full name is Roland Francis Timberlake!

Here he is with His great Grampa Roland, the man he is named after.  Baby Roland's middle name is also my Pepere's name so he is named after both of his great Grampa's.

Baby Roland is Pepere's 8th great Grandchild and he the 9th for Grammie and Grampa.
As of today he is just 2 days over a week old but he is just as healthy as could be and he is such a happy baby.  After the first two nights he has even been letting his Mom and Dad get some sleep.
When he is awake though he has been spending time in his pack and play in the garage with me and Allyssia has been bringing him into the LuLaRoom to work with her.  The dogs have been extremely good with him and Cricket is already starting to watch out for him.
So needless to say we could not be happier to introduce the newest member of our family.  It is an exciting new chapter of our life and we are so excited to share it!
